A prominent Egyptian activist was jailed Friday on accusations of inciting protests in front of the Interior Ministry in March, state media said. The activist, Ahmed Maher, was arrested at the Cairo airport upon arriving from abroad and transferred to a high-security prison where he will be held for four days while the accusations are investigated. Mr. Maher is a leader in the April 6 Youth Group that help organize the protests that ousted President Hosni Mubarak in February 2011. He has recently spoken out against President Mohamed Morsi and his allies in the Muslim Brotherhood.
