Stars from the world of TV are at the Bafta Awards, where Last Tango in Halifax, starring Sir Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid, has won best drama series. Olympic satire Twenty Twelve has won best sitcom at the TV Bafta Awards, while Olivia Colman has won best supporting actress for Accused.
It has four nominations, along with Alfred Hitchcock drama The Girl, Olympic satire Twenty Twelve and Jimmy McGovern drama Accused. Last Tango in Halifax, starring Sir Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid, took the prize for best drama series.
Sir Derek is up against Sean Bean, who played transvestite Tracie in Accused, for the best actor award. The London 2012 Paralympic Games has won best sport and live event, beating the opening ceremony and Super Saturday coverage and the Wimbledon Men's Final.
Michael Palin, who is to get a Bafta fellowship, said: "It knocks you out". Last Tango has four nominations, as do The Girl, Twenty Twelve and Accused.
He told the BBC on the red carpet: "There's a great variety of things I've done, I've worked with some amazing people, it's been a nice, diverse career, really. Other winners include Murder, from The Killing director Birger Larsen.
It won for best single drama, beating The Girl, while 7/7 One Day in London won for best single documentary.
