Two of the women arrested are aged 23 and the other is 65 and the three men being held are aged 29, 34 and 42. Police said three men and three women have been arrested. A post-mortem examination is due to take place later.
Supt Neil Bhole said: "A man has lost his life in tragic circumstances and we are working hard to bring the offenders to justice.
"We have already arrested six people on suspicion of murder and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."
Supt Bhole urged anyone with information to contact Greater Manchester Police.
