The Duke of Edinburgh has spent a second night in hospital, where he was said to be "progressing satisfactorily" after exploratory abdominal surgery. The doctor treating the Duke of Edinburgh is believed to have visited him as he begins his third day in hospital.
The operation under general anaesthetic followed "abdominal investigations" at the London Clinic in the past week. Prof John Cunningham spent around 30 minutes at the London Clinic, where Prince Philip is said to be "progressing satisfactorily".
