A man has been arrested over a suspected hit and run incident in Londonderry in which a child was seriously injured. A 23-year-old man has been charged over a suspected hit-and-run incident in Londonderry in which a young girl was seriously injured.
Police received a report at about 19:40 BST on Friday that a young girl had been knocked down by a blue motorcycle in Creggan Heights. The seven-year-old girl was knocked down by a motorbike at Creggan Heights at about 19:40 BST on Friday.
She is being treated in hospital for serious injuries. The man faces charges of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, driving without a licence and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
A man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily injury and failing to stop. A 21-year-old man arrested on Saturday has been released on bail.
Police are appealing for help to trace the blue motorbike. The 23-year-old man is due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court on Monday.
