The husband of a woman whose body was discovered late at night on a road in Wiltshire has paid tribute to his "much loved, cherished and appreciated" wife. Sarah-Jane Blackburn, 42, is believed to have been hit by a vehicle on the A3102 at Royal Wootton Bassett, on 2 June, which failed to stop. Mark Blackburn said his wife would be "sadly missed always and forever". In a family statement, Mr Blackburn said: "She was much loved, cherished and appreciated." He added: "She was always willing to help anyone and would do anything in her power to make the people around her happy. "She will always be a happy beat in our hearts and sadly missed always and forever." The force is still appealing for drivers to make contact if they were using the road in the Stoneover Lane area on 2 June between 22:30 BST and 23:00 BST. Inspector Steven Cox, head of roads policing, said: "It is possible that the driver of this vehicle might not have realised they have hit anything or might have thought they had struck an animal. "If you think you may have been involved in this collision, it is imperative that you contact Wiltshire Police or Crimestoppers immediately." |
