The M4 has reopened at the Brynglas tunnel at Newport after a single vehicle accident between junctions 26 and 25 closed it during Thursday morning's rush hour. One person has been taken to hospital following a crash on the M4 during Thursday morning's rush hour.
As emergency services dealt with the incident traffic trapped in the tunnel was being released. The section of road was temporarily closed on the eastbound carriageway at the Brynglas tunnel at Newport after a car crashed with a lorry between junctions 26 and 25.
The accident was just after the tunnel, with congestion reported to J28. Fire crews from Malpas and Maindee were called at 07:23 BST and released the injured person, who was trapped in their car.
