Jurors in the trial of police killer Dale Cregan and nine other men have come back with their verdicts at the end of a 12-week trial. Jurors in the trial of double police killer Dale Cregan and nine other men have come back with their verdicts at the end of a 12-week trial.
Guilty verdicts were returned at Preston Crown Court for two men over the murder of Mark Short in the Cotton Tree Inn, Manchester, on 26 May 2012. Dale Cregan, who earlier in the Preston Crown Court trial admitted killing PCs Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes, was cleared of a further attempted murder.
The pair have also been convicted of the attempted murders of three men on the same night. He had also earlier pleaded guilty to killing father and son David and Mark Short in gun and grenade attacks.
Cregan previously admitted his role in the murder and attempted murders. Three other men were convicted over the murders of the Shorts.
Luke Livesey, 28, and Damian Gorman, 38, were found guilty of their part in the murder of Mark Short in a shooting at the Cotton Tree Inn, Droylsden, as well as the attempted murder of three others in the same attack.
Jermaine Ward, 24, was convicted of killing David Short at his Clayton home in August.
Anthony Wilkinson, 34, had previously admitted his part in the murder of Mark Short's father.
Mohammed Imran Ali, 32, was found guilty of assisting an offender.
