(about 5 hours later) | |
An armed robbery has been carried out on a Hampshire post office.
Just before 09:00 BST, a man wearing a white balaclava entered the Post Office in Hampton Lane, Blackfield, police said.
Armed with a handgun he threatened staff and took an undisclosed quantity of cash.
Two members of staff and one customer were in the shop at the time. No-one is believed to have been hurt in the raid.
The man left the scene on a grey mountain bike, heading in the direction of Exbury Road.
A police search using a helicopter and dog teams failed to find the man.
Officers said they believed it was an isolated incident and not connected to firearms incidents in Brockenhurst and Lymington last year. |
