A 20-year-old man was due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates Court. He has also been charged with three counts of actual bodily harm. Aras Hussein, of Herries Road, was remanded in custody by Sheffield magistrates to appear at the crown court on Thursday.
He has also been charged with assaulting five people at Sheffield's Northern General Hospital, where he was taken following his arrest.
