A teacher who wrote a song about tennis star Andy Murray has been invited to Wimbledon.

Keith Meisner penned Under the Lights (Song for Andy Murray) about the Scottish player, who shared it with his 1.5 million social media followers.

Murray wrote: "A friend of mine who I grew up playing tennis with came up with this song."

Mr Meisner, 26, was then invited to SW19 for Friday's action by Murray's mother Judy.

He will take his guitar with him, after Murray made it through his second round match on Wednesday, and plans to play on so-called Murray Mount - previously Henman Hill.

The Elgin-born PE teacher, who lives in Aberdeen, teaches at Kemnay Academy.

'Tough to beat'

He chose the title Under the Lights to reflect "diamond of Dunblane" Murray's tennis career under the glare of court floodlights and camera flashes.

The chorus is: "He's got a game as sharp as a dagger; He'll boom that backhand past you; He got a chess player's mind and boxer's feet; That's a combination that's tough to beat."

The song has now been viewed thousands of times on the internet.

He said of Judy Murray's invite: "She messaged me to say if I wanted tickets to come down.

"Friday is my day off. And she told me to bring my guitar down too."
