Craig Maddocks death: Man remanded over Wrexham pub killing

A man accused of murder at a pub in Wrexham town centre has appeared in court.

Francisco John Prevete, 45, was remanded in custody at the brief hearing at a special sitting of Flintshire Magistrates Court in Mold on Saturday.

Craig Maddocks, 34, from Llay, died at the Cambrian Vaults in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The defendant will now appear at Mold Crown Court on Monday.

He spoke only to confirm his name during the two-minute hearing.

Family tributes

In a statement on Friday, Mr Maddocks' parents, Edna and David, described him as a "wonderful son, father, brother and nephew".

They called him a "beam of light when you walked into a room, the life and soul of any situation".

His twin brother Daniel said: "I will miss you bro, you were my twin and I was your shadow, love you millions. Miss you pal."

Police had been called to an incident at the pub at Town Hill at 00:43 BST on Wednesday.
