A Devon paintball centre staff member has died after being trapped while unloading barriers from a van.

The woman, who has not been named, was unloading the wooden barriers at the Delta Force Paintball Centre in Sparkwell, near Plymouth, on Friday, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

The 45-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Emergency crews were called to the centre, in Ledgate Lane, at 21:25 BST on Friday.

A file was being prepared for the coroner and the woman's next of kin had been told, police said.

The Health and Safety Executive was informed and officers from South Hams District Council will investigate the death, the force added.

Delta Force Paintball has 29 paintball centres in the UK and Ireland.

The company has not commented on the death.
