A body has been discovered on a beach in East Lothian. Police have said they are investigating the discovery of a woman's body on the shore near Aberlady in East Lothian.
Police said they were dealing with an incident on Gullane beach. Officers were called to the scene at about 14:30. Officers were called to the scene at about 14:30 on Tuesday after the find was reported to them by members of the public.
They were giving no further details at present. Police said the woman appears to have been in her 30s. It is thought her body has washed ashore.
Gullane's award-winning beach, is backed by large sand dunes. The town has been especially busy this week as the Open Golf Championship gets under way at Muirfield. Investigations are at an early stage but the death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
