The bodies of Jean Redfern, 67, and Sarah Redfern, 33, were found at a house on Sandygate, Wath-upon-Dearne. | |
South Yorkshire Police said Mrs Redfern died from asphyxiation and Sarah Redfern from severe head injuries. | |
Peter Redfern appeared at Rotherham Magistrates' Court earlier. He was remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 7 August. | |

In a statement released by the women's family they said they had been left "devastated" by their deaths | |
It read: "Jean was a much loved sister and aunt. | |
"Sarah was a wonderful, kind and loving niece and cousin. | |
"We are at a loss to know why they died, but ask as a family that we are allowed to grieve and try to come to terms with what has happened." |
