Human remains found in bushes beside a cemetery in Edinburgh are that of a baby, police have confirmed. Police are appealing for the mother of a baby found dead near an Edinburgh footpath to come forward.

The area around the find has been cordoned off. The police are concerned the mother may need medical attention.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Police attended the scene near Seafield Cemetery and are currently investigating." They are also asking people to contact them if they know of anyone who had recently been pregnant, but no longer gets in touch.
Det Ch Insp Dave McLaren said they did not yet know the age or sex of the baby, or how long the body had been there.
Police are awaiting the results of forensic tests, but this process could take several days.
In the meantime, detectives are concentrating their efforts on lists of expectant mothers and on door-to-door inquiries.
