A statement from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport said the games would transform the lives of millions.
It said: "The whole of the UK, including Scotland, will see immense benefits - exactly the sorts of benefits the lottery was set up to deliver.
"There is still a large amount of lottery money for culture and sport - more than £5bn over the five year period.
"No existing lottery committment need be affected by the additional contribution the lottery is making to the Olympics, and ministers have also agreed a deal to pay this back from land value increases when the Olympic Park is sold."
