Schoolgirl Emily Dunne, who lives close to the crash site, said: "I was just watching telly and I just saw a man running down screaming in absolute terror, screaming, bashing on my windows and there were no full sentences.
"It was just 'help, ambulance, blood' and we called the ambulance and he ran off down the field with the phone.
"The next minute there were ambulances, fire engines, police cars all coming in, there were helicopters."
A spokeswoman for East Midlands Ambulance Service said the crash was reported to it at 19:48 and several ambulances were sent to the scene.
