http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-23970021 Version 0 of 1. Burglars have stolen a man's prosthetic eye which he has had for more than 70 years. The burglary, in Badminton Road, Downend, Bristol, happened early on Wednesday while the married couple who live there were asleep. They stole the couple's red Seat Leon car as well as other items such as a flat screen television and a gold ring. Avon and Somerset Police said the 79-year-old man was distressed and had owned the eye since the age of six. Police said the plastic eye had a blue-green iris. A spokesman said the man had lost his eye in an accident and considered the prosthetic "part of his body". "This can have no use or value to the thieves and I would appeal for them to do the right thing and return it," he added. |
