A patient in health authority care has drowned in a lake in Rochdale, after apparently falling from a canoe. | |
The man, 31, was one of four patients in two canoes when he fell into the water about 14:00 BST on Thursday. | |
His body was found five-and-a-half hours later in Hollingworth Lake by police divers. Greater Manchester Police are investigating. | |
Eye witnesses reportedly saw the man returned to the canoe before apparently jumping into the lake. | |
These reports have not been confirmed by police. | |
The canoes were strapped together and the group was with a qualified instructor in addition to a nearby support craft. | |
