There is also some evidence to suggest drivers over the age of 80 are at an increased risk of accidents, according to Liz Box, head of research at the RAC Foundation. "There's some evidence that suddenly stopping driving and a lack of mobility leads to depression, so we want to keep people independent for as long as possible.
