South Wales Police confirmed it has cordoned off a number of streets in the area while the situation is continuing. | |
Insp Chris Truscott could not confirm if there were firearms or other weapons at the address or how many suspects were involved. | |
He said armed officers were deployed at 08:27 BST on Saturday for "the safety of the public and the police officers". | |
The police helicopter was also at the scene. | |
Insp Truscott said: "South Wales Police officers have attended the scene of an incident at Monthermer Road, Cardiff. | |
"An investigation into the matter is continuing. | |
