Five men have been held in connection with a smash-and-grab raid in which watches worth almost £1.5m were stolen from London's Selfridges store. Four men have been charged in connection with a smash-and-grab raid at London's Selfridges store.
The men were arrested earlier when police raided eight addresses in Islington, north London. Jewellery including watches worth about £1.5m were taken during the raid, which took place in June.

Sam Curtin, 24, and Connor Groake, 19, both from Islington, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob and aggravated vehicle-taking. Ritchie Graham, 23, from Islington, and Ramela Gordon, 18, from Stoke Newington, have been charged over the Selfridges robbery as well as the raid at the Robert Gatward Jewellers in Windsor.
Curtin was sentenced to 10 years while Groake was jailed for seven years, at Kingston Crown Court in July. Kris Monaghan, 24, from Islington, and Leon Wright, 25, from Finsbury Park, were charged with conspiracy to commit robbery at Selfridges.
Det Insp Bob Currie said the arrests showed "that the Flying Squad will continue to pursue those who choose to commit these types of offences, gathering the necessary intelligence to arrest them and bring them before the courts". A fifth man, Andre Murrian, 19, from Stamford Hill, was charged over the raid at the jewellers in Windsor.
They have all been remanded in custody to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
Two other men have already been jailed for the Selfridges robbery.
