Two senior members of a Norfolk lifeboat crew have been rescued by their own boat.

Father and son, Paul and Tommy Williams, who are cox and assistant cox on the Caister-on-Sea lifeboat, were being escorted back to shore after their fishing boat took in water.

But their craft was swamped half a mile offshore and both men had to be pulled from the water.

They were treated by paramedics before being allowed home.

Paul Garrod, a member of the crew who were called out at about 18:00 BST, said: "They are two very, very lucky boys. If we hadn't been there to see them go over it would have been a completely different story."
