Syria: Government Releases Some Female Detainees

Version 0 of 1. Antigovernment activists said Wednesday that the Syrian government had released at least 15 female detainees in what appeared to be part of an ambitious regional prisoner swap. Last week that deal, brokered by several countries, freed Lebanese captives held by Syrian rebels and two Turkish pilots held in Lebanon. Syrian rebels had reportedly also demanded the release of the female prisoners. |
