Her family were in court for the five-day trial and there were emotional scenes as the guilty verdicts were delivered. Just before 18:00 local time on Thursday, her family were called for the verdict.
Shortly afterwards, a statement was read out in the court lobby on behalf of the McShane family. The trial lasted five days, it took three and a half hours to find Viramontes guilty on all charges.
