M6 motorway opens after woman dies in fall from bridge | |

The M6 in Birmingham has reopened after a woman died on the motorway in the early hours. | |

The northbound carriageway between the two junctions was completely closed for about five hours with the southbound side also closed for a shorter time. | |
The closures created long traffic delays queuing back to junction five at Castle Bromwich. | |
Police are appealing for help to identify the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene. | |
PC Jason Stacey, from West Midlands Police, said: "At this stage we have been unable to identify any information about the woman and are appealing for help to trace who she is. | |
"Although this happened early in the morning there would have been a number of drivers on the road who may have witnessed it." |
