A 25-year-old man has been shot in the shoulder in Greater Manchester.

The man, who has not been named by police, was driving a silver Audi along Brideoak Street on Cheetham Hill on Monday night when the attack happened.

Police say a car driving towards him stopped, before a man got out of the passenger side and fired at the Audi.

The victim reversed his car down the street onto Waterloo Road, where it collided with another vehicle. The gunman was driven off.

The injured man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition. A passenger in the car was unhurt.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened at about 2140 BST.

The gunman and the driver of the car are both described as black and were wearing dark-coloured clothes.
