A couple have been charged over the death of their baby son last year. A couple from Shropshire have appeared in court charged with the murder of their baby son.
Paul James Thomas, 28, and Ashlea Leanne Sargent, 19, of Telford, Shropshire, are accused of causing or allowing the death of the 11-month-old. Paul James Thomas, 28, and Ashlea Leanne Thomas, 19, are also accused of causing or allowing the death of the 11-month-old, as well as child cruelty.

The couple, who have also been charged with child cruelty, are due at Birmingham Magistrates' Court later. The couple, of Lilleshall Hall Drive in Newport, were remanded in custody at Birmingham Magistrates' Court.
