His resting place was found by former police officer Brenda Neary, who is now a volunteer at the cemetery. About 100 people attended a ceremony at the cemetery.
Ch Supt Ian Pilling, of Merseyside Police, is due to attend a ceremony at the officer's grave along with Peter Singleton, chairman of Merseyside Police Federation. Among those who spoke at the ceremony was Geraldine Winner, the widow of film director Michael Winner.
Geraldine Winner, the widow of film director Michael Winner, will also be present. Mr Winner, who died earlier this year, set up the Police Memorial Trust following the death of PC Yvonne Fletcher, who was shot while policing a protest at the Libyan embassy in London in 1984.
