Version 0 of 1.

The M40 near Warwick has fully re-opened after crash repairs took almost two days to complete.

A lorry partially overturned and trapped a car underneath, blocking all lanes except the hard shoulder southbound between junctions 16 and 15 on Wednesday morning.

The route was partially closed for most of Thursday for repairs, which were completed at about 15:30 GMT.

The Highways Agency said wind and rain delayed the work.

Wednesday's crash caused heavy traffic to build up on the M40 throughout most of Wednesday and drivers were urged to avoid the area if possible.

Police said the clear-up took longer because the lorry had been carrying a full load and there was a lot of debris on the road.

No-one was seriously injured in the incident.
