Woman found dead in Levenshulme house was stabbed

A woman who was found dead at her home in Greater Manchester died from multiple stab wounds, a post-mortem examination has found.

The body of Aisha Alam, 49, was discovered by police at a house on Mayford Road, Levenshulme, at about 11:50 GMT on Friday, police said.

A 52-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody for questioning.

Police said: "Our thoughts are with her family and friends."
