Matthew Hayes: Boy killed in bus collision named

Matthew Hayes, of Moorside, was hit in Ryhope Street South, near the Asda supermarket, at 15:25 GMT on Friday. Emergency services attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Ch Insp George Maratty said: "This is a deeply tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the boy who died." Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward. |
