Michel Roux Sr has said that many celebrity chefs are too young to be able to write good cookery books. Roux said most cookery books should never have been published, though he stopped short of naming the worst offenders. The celebrated owner of Le Gavroche did not start writing his own books until he was well into his 40s, and suggested that many chefs in their early 30s "know nothing".
