Woman arrested after wrong way M5 motorway drive

A woman has been arrested after allegedly driving the wrong way on the M5 motorway in the West Midlands.

The 26-year-old from Halesowen is being questioned on suspicion of dangerous driving and drink driving, police said.

Officers stopped a black Vauxhall Astra after they saw it driving the wrong way near to junction one for West Bromwich at about 03:00 GMT.

West Midlands Police said there were no reported crashes or injuries. The force is appealing for witnesses.
