Britain: Royal Marine Sentenced for Killing an Afghan Insurgent
Version 0 of 1. A Royal Marine convicted of murdering a wounded Taliban insurgent in Afghanistan in 2011 was sentenced Friday to a minimum of 10 years in prison. The marine, Sgt. Alexander Blackman, and two others were charged after military authorities found footage of the episode on a helmet camera belonging to one of the men. Sergeant Blackman was recorded shooting the wounded Afghan in the chest at close range. The other men were acquitted. |
