Version 0 of 1.

If you tuned in to NBC's the Sound of Music last weekend (whether to hate-watch or just sing along) you weren't alone – in fact you were with a group of people more than twice the size of New York City. More than 18 million viewers tuned in to watch American Idol star and country music singer Carrie Underwood star as Maria, a role made famous by Julie Andrews in the 1965 movie. And though the reviews were less than kind (our own Emma Brockes titled her review "Carrie Underwood's Sound of Music – gag me now") the audience's huge numbers have got entertainment execs excited about a follow up.

In an interview with the New York Times, Robert Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC's entertainment division, said plans were already afoot to figure out which musical to do next. “All weekend, people have been calling us and emailing us,” Greenblatt said. “Rights holders of musicals have said, ‘Please do one of our shows.’ We’re excited to try it again.”

As for which musical they'll choose to produce next, NBC hasn't decided. Greenblatt told the Times is that he's interested in family-friendly Broadway/West End classics with a lot of familiar songs.

<strong>There are hundreds of musicals that fit that description and we think Greenblatt could use some help deciding on which to <del>destroy</del> produce. Phantom of the Opera? Cats? Wicked? Or, should they just try the Sound of Music again – recast with the Kardashians? Tell us what you think should be NBC's next musical project in the comments below and we'll add the best (read: wittiest) to this post.</strong>
