Good morning and welcome to our daily space on the network to bring you the latest news, advice and analysis from the sector.

• Today we opened Day 12 of our social enterprise Christmas advent calendar. For the chance to win our Christmas hamper, tell us why you buy social in a comment on our open thread. Follow our hashtag #socentxmas for updates.

• Elsewhere, Pioneers Post debates whether impact bonds are the first step towards a Star Trek ecomony. In essence, this represents an economy where money is redundant and the driving force of the business is to better themselves and the rest of humanity.

• Social Enterprise Buzz reports that Tugende, a social enterprise in Uganda that helps boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) drivers own their vehicles, has raised $300,000 in seed funding. • In other news, the Huffington Post reports on what entrepreneurs can learn from Nelson Mandela.
