She is described as white, of slim build with shoulder length dark brown hair and brown eyes. 'Come to harm' fears
Supt Christian Bunt, from Thames Valley Police, said: "I appeal to anyone who has any information, however significant it may be, to contact police immediately." Jayden, who until last month was living in Didcot, Oxfordshire with her mother, is described as white, of slim build with shoulder length dark-brown hair and brown eyes.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Mr Bunt said: "Jayden has made no contact with friends and family since she was last seen, which is unusual for her and a cause for great concern. She recently became homeless and had been living at a hostel in Oxford called 1 Foot Forward.
"We do not believe she has any access to money or other resources. which is also of concern." Police have issued a CCTV image of her leaving Didcot Parkway railway station at 16:27 GMT on 3 December. She had earlier caught a train from Oxford.
About 50 officers are involved in the search, which is being concentrated on a rural area between the village of Upton and Didcot, around a disused railway line.
Ch Supt Andy Murray, from Thames Valley Police, said: "This is a live missing persons inquiry.
"But, as time goes on, we're becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.
"The man arrested as part of our inquiries is to try and prove or disprove that Jayden has come to harm."
'Shocked and concerned'
Ch Supt Murray confirmed the man would remain in custody until "at least later this evening".
He will then either be released, charged or have his time in custody extended.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area between Upton and Didcot on the evening of the 8 December and the morning of 9 December.
"If you saw anything suspicious, please call us, we would like to hear from you," added Ch Supt Murray.
"Information we have received has led us to concentrate our search in that area.
"Jayden's family are being seen by a family liaison officer and are understandably shocked and concerned.
"They want their daughter home safe and well."
