Man and woman found dead in house in Ravenhill, Belfast Double murder: Man and woman found dead in Belfast house
(about 17 hours later)
A man and a woman have been found dead in a house at Ravenhill Court in east Belfast. The deaths of a man and woman whose bodies were found in a Belfast house are being treated as a double murder.
Police said they are "investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two people in south east Belfast". Their bodies were found at Ravenhill Court in the south-east of the city on Friday.
"Following a report from members of the public, police attended a house in the Ravenhill area at about 2.45pm today and discovered the bodies of a man and woman inside," a spokesperson said. A police spokesman said they were discovered at 14:45 GMT after police were alerted by a member of the public.
"The scene is currently being preserved while enquiries are carried out." He said the door to the flat where the two people lived had been damaged. When police went in, they found the two bodies.
There are no further details. Both victims were middle-aged.
Police believe the incident was domestic-related. They want to talk to one person who may have been in a relationship with one of the two people killed.
They said the person did not pose a threat to the wider public.
They have appealed for information.
