Police have arrested a man who absconded from an open prison earlier this month while serving a six-year sentence for attempted murder. Michael McInnes, 23, failed to return to Castle Huntly prison near Dundee on 4 December after a period of home release in Glasgow. He was traced and arrested in the Bellshill area in North Lanarkshire. McInnes was sentenced to six years in custody after he attacked a man in May 2009. He is expected to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday. |
