His fellow directors and the company MNS Mining have pleaded not guilty to similar charges at a hearing at Swansea Crown Court. MNS Mining, the company which operated the site, has pleaded not guilty to corporate manslaughter charges at the hearing at Swansea Crown Court.

Mr Fyfield's two co-directors were also present in the courtroom.
The judge granted Mr Fyfield unconditional bail and fixed the start date for the trial for 24 March.
Proceedings are expected to last eight weeks.
