Police have begun a murder inquiry into the death of Basil McAfee, 50, who was found dead in north Belfast. The man found murdered in north Belfast on Friday had been stabbed a number of times, police have said.
His body was found by a relative at a house in Henderson Avenue off the Cavehill Road on Friday 20 December at 13:00 GMT. The body of Paschal McAfee, 50, was found by his mother at a house in Henderson Avenue, off the Cavehill Road, at about 13:00 GMT on Friday.
A post mortem examination is to be carried out later. Mr McAfee - who was also known as Basil - was last seen in an off-licence in Henderson Avenue at about 16:00 GMT on Thursday.

It is understood he was originally from Ardyone, also in north Belfast.
Detective Chief Inspector John McVea said police needed to find out where Mr McAfee went after the last reported sighting.
"Police are particularly keen to know where Basil was from approximately 4pm on Thursday 19 December," he said.
"We know that he had bought some alcohol in an off-licence just off the Cavehill Road, just before 4pm.
"We're keen to know who Basil was with just after that time or where he had been."
