Assault linked to fatal car incident in Fraserburgh | |

Police are linking an assault to an incident in which a man died after being hit by a car in Aberdeenshire. | |
The man died at the scene of the collision involving a silver Mercedes in South Road, Fraserburgh, at about 18:00 on Friday. | |
At the same time police were alerted to an incident in the same area in which a man was assaulted. | |
Police said the events were "linked but separate". | |
A 20-year-old man has been reported in connection with the assault and is expected to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Monday. | |
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses. | |
They would particularly like to speak with the driver of a light-coloured car, who spoke with the dead man before the incident near to the Gray and Adams premises on South Road. |
