A body has been found on a beach at Porthcawl in south Wales. A body found on a beach at Porthcawl in south Wales is that of a 24-year-old local man who was reported missing on Friday morning, say police.
Emergency services are at the scene which is believed to be close to the Seabank Hotel. South Wales Police said the man has been identified by a relative.
Swansea Coastguard raised the alert after receiving a call on Friday. The incident is not being treated as suspicious at this stage and police inquires were continuing.
South Wales Police said: "Police were called to Porthcawl seafront at 9.38am this morning to a report from the coastguard of a body on the beach. The body has not been identified and enquiries are continuing." Emergency services were called to the seafront in Bridgend county after Swansea Coastguard raised the alert.
