Police have cordoned off a car park and are searching an area at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. Police have cordoned off an area at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff after a man was found unconscious.
Around six officers and a police van are at the scene near the Millennium Bridge, which leads over the River Taff and into Bute Park. The 24-year-old was discovered in the Mochyn Du pub car park at about 02:52 GMT on Saturday.
One witness said officers appeared to be using sticks to search undergrowth. His injuries are not known but he is being treated at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police confirmed there was an ongoing incident near the Swalec Stadium cricket ground but would not give any further details. Around six officers have been searching a car park near the Millennium Bridge, which is close to where the man was found.
South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses to call 101 if they saw anything suspicious between 01:30 and 03:10 GMT.
