Version 0 of 1.

A man found dead in a pond on Boxing Day was a quiet man who "kept himself to himself", a neighbour has said.

Paul Humphries, 41, was found outside a property on the corner of Chaucer Crescent and Prior Close in Kidderminster.

A post-mortem examination on Saturday revealed evidence of drowning. Police have been treating his death as unexplained.

Officers said Mr Humphries had been taken unwell on Christmas night.

They said he was last seen at his home in Tennyson Way, close to where he was found, shortly before 01.30 GMT when a friend checked on him.

Scot Bayliss, of Tennyson Way, said Mr Humphries was his neighbour.

The steel factory worker described him as a quiet man who kept himself to himself and had very few visitors.

"The first we knew about [his death] was when I read about it on the internet," said Mr Bayliss.

He said his early and late shifts meant he did not see Mr Humphries very often, but the pair often exchanged "hellos".

Mr Bayliss said Mr Humphries had lived in the area for seven or eight years.

Det Sgt Ed Slough said officers were not seeking anyone else in connection with his death.
