A man and a woman have been taken to hospital after being rescued by firefighters from a fire in a house in Anglesey. A man and a woman in their seventies have been taken to hospital with smoke inhalation after a fire in Anglesey.

It is believed the fire started in the roof space of the house. Initially, it was reported the fire started in the roof space, but later the fire service said it began in the living room.
Both casualties were taken by ambulance to hospital in Bangor suffering from the effects of smoke. The pair were led to safety by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

The cause of the blaze is still being investigated but the fire service said it is thought to have started in the living room.
There was extensive smoke damage to the ground floor.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 4.15am to reports of a fire at a property in Rhosmeirch, near Llangefni.
"A paramedic in a rapid response car and an emergency ambulance were dispatched to the scene, and a man and a woman in their seventies with smoke inhalation were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital in Bangor."
