Version 0 of 1.

The family of a man who died after being shot have made an appeal on the third anniversary of his shooting.

Eddie Pybis, 20, was shot while he was in a Volvo on Utting Avenue, Anfield, Liverpool on 3 January 2011 and died six days later from his injuries.

Eight men have been arrested in connection with the case, but there have been no charges brought.

Sister Kirsty said their mother died last year and "all mum wanted was to see Eddie's killer brought to justice".

Police believe a black BMW 7 series, registration number DX57 UHU, was used by those who shot Mr Pybis, who was a passenger in the Volvo.

'Allegiances change'

The car was stolen from the Knutsford area on 2 December 2010 and was spotted driving erratically in the Anfield area shortly before the incident.

It was found burned out in Bellefield Avenue, West Derby, hours after the shooting.

Officers are also keen to speak to two men who were travelling in a dark-coloured saloon car that was involved in an altercation with the occupants of a Ford Focus on Larkhill Close at about 13:30 GMT on 3 January 2011.

Both cars drove off at speed along Larkhill Lane towards Townsend Lane.

Det Ch Insp Neil Clark said: "I am sure that allegiances/loyalties will have changed over the last three years and I would appeal to those who know what happened to examine their consciences and do the right thing and come forward.

"We will always respond to fresh information and remain committed to bringing the offenders to justice and in turn bring some comfort to Eddie's family."
