Two teenage girls die in M1 crash in Leicestershire
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-25613000 Version 0 of 1. Two teenage girls were killed in a crash on the M1 when the car they were in went down an embankment and hit trees. Police said the girls, aged 14 and 18, both died at the scene. The 35-year-old woman driving the car, and an 18-year-old male passenger, were both treated for minor injuries. The convertible black Vauxhall Astra left the carriageway at about 19:15 GMT on Saturday, between junctions 19 and 20 in Leicestershire. Police have asked for anyone who was driving in the area between 19:00 and 19:15 to contact them. Det Con Adrian Keeble said: "The car had gone about a mile past the start of the M6, junction 19, and was travelling M1 northbound. "The car was a black Vauxhall Astra but it was quite distinctive because it was a convertible so we'd like to hear from anyone who thinks they saw it." Police said no other vehicles were involved in the crash. |
